About La Libertad Sublime

Human rights defenders, social leaders and activists have been getting murdered with an alarming regularity in Colombia since a peace deal was signed between the Colombian government and the FARC guerrillas in 2016. According to Colombian organisation Indepaz, more than 1,400 such leaders have been killed since then (as of May 2023).

Academics and student researchers contribute to this space by researching and documenting violence against social leaders in the Caribbean region and the rest of Colombia.

It is hoped that these texts form some level of tribute to the victims and offer a source of information for research into this worrying situation.
